Have you seen my cat?

Phoebe was lost for a while. As in, she magically got out last night and we started to get really worried about her. Once I got home tonight we got a search party going. I was really nervous we would find her...less than lively. We met some neighbors that helped point us in the right direction and know that she was in fact, alive. Also, one of the "provies" rode his bike all the way from the dorms in the rain to help search. Although, once he got here, she was rescued and home already. It was sweet. We all ended up watching Jeopardy.
I really like Phoebe. She's a brat.

Do you ever see to people and want to smush them together? I do. There are two people I have in mind that I want to just smush *couple* !

I've started this thing where I type random phrases into google to see what websites & images pop up. You find great things that way. And if you type that last phrase, you'll find this website.

I skipped two things tonight. I wanted to go to the Yule Ball tonight at school, but once I came home, it left my mind, especially with the lost cat situation. I also skipped my friend's readings of his play, but sometimes we have to be selfish and at least pretend to do homework. I also didn't feel like dealing with certain people either. I don't have much of a constitution for have to talk to people I don't need to when I don't want to. Ya dig?

Fingerprints.

I'm leaving my fingerprint.

And beeteedubbs, I caught up with the last few episodes of Psych. I haven't had that kind of a reaction to a television show in a while. I'M SO PUMPED. If you haven't watched that show, please do. I'm going to catch up on the last two (or three) seasons over the winter break. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm James Roday & Dule Hill

Reality Check.

The harder you work, the harder it is to surrender.

"I know that it's easier to portray a world that's filled with cynicism and anger, where problems are resolved with violence. That's titillating. It's an easy out. What's a whole lot tougher is to offer alternatives, to present other ways conflicts can be resolved, and to show that you can have a positive impact on your world. To do that, you have to put yourself out in a limb, take chances, and run the risk of being called a do-gooder.
-Jim Henson

Do you ever feel like you've lost yourself? Of course you have, you're human.
I feel like that. Not entirely in a negative way. I feel like I make a lot of good, significant choices. But, there's always a but, I don't know if I'm being the person I set out to be. I'm really easily impacted by negative energy and guilt. It affects me, a lot. I don't always open up, and this semester has really impacted me and drew me to a lot of conclusions. I've been very forgetful this semester, in everyday life and in the grand scheme of things. I've been really, unnecessarily nervous this semester. More anxious I guess. Vair vair unhealthy.
I want to stop going through the motions. Deal with things as they come, no more ignoring the people who need to be talked to. As Jim Henson said, "Dynamite determination." That's what I need. Need. Not Want.
I really WANT to go be an intern at the Jim Henson company in New York. I wonder if GC would sponsor me. Christmas break, come up with a plan. On your mark, get set, ...

Night at the Gervais'

I'm pretty sure I want to get my haircut like this:

Plus, Amelia Earhart is tight. In both real life & this movie. Basically, I want to do something as monumental as she did in my life. Plus, I've always wanted to fly a plane. Mmmmmmmmmmmmm.

Amelia Earhart: Do you know why I became a pilot?
Larry Daley: I have no idea.
Amelia Earhart: For the fun of it. Why else would anyone do anything?

Amelia Earhart: Well, Larry Daley, in case you weren't listening, I'm not one to shy away from danger.

Abraham Lincoln: If I may, you two make an adorable couple.
Larry Daley: Oh, we're not a... I mean, we're not...
Abraham Lincoln: [copying Larry] 'We're not a... I mean we're not a... ' blah, blah, blah, I never lie!
I laughed REALLY hard at that. I NEVER LIE! Hahahahaahahhaahahahaaaahahahhaa

This scene cracks me up.

Oh, Happy Thanksgiving e'ryone! Gratitude is for everyday! :)

DPS

Conversations with Daddy Paul: Dead Poets Society
DP: This is just like Harry Potter.
BG: No it's not.
DP: Yes it is. It's just like Harry Potter.
BG: They aren't witches and warlocks.
DP: They're poets. Same thing.

Thumbs up.

"Boys, you must strive to find your own voice. Because the longer you wait to begin, the less likely you are to find it at all. Thoreau said, "Most men lead lives of quiet desperation." Don't be resigned to that. Break out!"

Deets.

This is what I'm going to base my Thanksgiving "Thanks" speech off of on Thursday:
"I’m grateful for this awkward situation." -Jason Mraz

Oh, awkward, what good friends we are.

Aight, as promised, my weekend.

THURSDAY!
I don't even remember what I did in my classes or if I had a good day, but I remember being excited. I drove home after class, but I ran into an old friend and chatted for a bit before i left. He stopped talking mid-sentence at one point and said, "I'm sorry but I just remembered how pretty your eyes were." It sounds super cheesy, but if you knew this punk like I do, it's not. He'll say whatever's on his mind. It was really nice, that's all. I'm not very good at taking compliments and normally end up talking incessantly after I receive one. I apologize. After talking to him, I drove home. Tight music played the whole way. I kept changing stations because my mom's car picks up so many of them. I listened to people talk about Hamlet and Harry Potter, listened to three different Katy songs as well as a ton of other fantastic music. I got home and hung out with my parents until HP!! I'm not going to even talk about it really because everyone's going to make a big stink about it no matter what. I really enjoyed though. It was stupid though because I started crying almost immediately. I knew it was going to be super emotional, and I guess I let myself get more into it than I thought. When I started to cry, everyone in my group started to stare at me and how ridiculous it was. We started to laugh and it was almost impossible to control. I'm so silly.
Friday, I got some new clothes! But I don't get some of it until Christmas which is perfectly okay with me. I really enjoy being by myself in stores sometimes. It's this strange paradox of being completely alone without being alone at all. I didn't get my goal (buying jeans) but I have more time this week or in three weeks to deal with that.
Saturday, I hung out with my mom and had lunch. Then she went home to prepare for Early Thanksgiving and I went to Atlanta. I think it's funny how "lost" I get going to places. I'm great at getting back from places but not going to. I don't even know how it happens most times. I end up in some dark cul-de-sac that's hosting a birthday party... Whatever. I went to the improv competition, which was an interesting situation. I think the people that won our round were great, so I don't think we should feel bad about not making finals--- any other group though, I would have.
Early Thanksgiving was fun. It was smaller than most of our gatherings because only half the normal crowd was there. I wanted to sleep at lot of the time.
I feel bad because I didn't spend a lot of time with my dad and I didn't see Rachael at all. I can only fit in so much a time though. Especially because that was my weekend off, ya know? I wasn't going to stress out making sure everyone got a piece of me. I'll be home on Wednesday and I plan to spend most of that time loafing around watching Christmas movies with Popi.
TONIGHT.
RESEARCH PAPER. Britta, you can do it. You know your topic. Do work.

Great Weekend.

"Gratitude is the memories from your heart."
or something like that. I saw it on a church sign and thought it was awesome, but I don't have a good memory all the time.

Bomb weekend thus far. Details later. I promise.

Haddock.

I got the tag for my car in the mail today from my parents. Just seeing my parents handwriting is making me SO ready to be home. I LEAVE ON THURSDAY :) AIIIIIIEEEEEE!!!!

I'm going to share with you a little country. I do, in fact, like country. Just like all music, some of it's good, some of it's TERRIBLE. This, my dears, is great. Josh Turner's voice is ridiculous.

I was going to post something else that was inspiring, but I definitely can't remember right now. THREE CHEERS FOR SINUS HEADACHES! Only, not.

Books for Boxes

I don't know if these guys are known or anything, but they came on my pandora a long time ago and it made me keep using pandora.

Nostalgia

I have to go through a bunch of my pictures and whatnot for my digital print class because we're supposed to make a book of all our artwork, but mine is either crap, not photographed, or at my house in G-town...somewhere...

Anywho, I found this...

I really loved that room, too bad I hated that apartment. I think I'm more artistic when I am a. angry b. alone c. have the motivation. I have "the urge" a lot now, but have the lack of time & motivation. Plus, all semester I've hated my work so my motivation to try is lacking as well.

Oh dear me.

I Swear We're In The Movies

One of my best-good-friends and I don't hang out much because, you know, life gets in the way. But, I heard this song today and thought of him. Actually, I suppose it was the other way around... It's a GREAT song and the acoustic version is BRILLIANT. Plus, I could go for a roadtrip and this song always reminds me of infinite nights.

Here's to another CRAZY WEEK. Good luck getting a hold of until Friday.

Blogging

When/if I have children, I want to have cute things like these folks

I want my kids to put on shaving cream & ties to look like their Popi. So cute. My kids will probably end up calling my Dad either Popi or Daddy Paul just like I do & my mom, Mormor. Goodness, I want my sister to have kids-- but only when I have a job/some sort of income to spoil them or have Britta Bonding Days! There's NO WAY they'll be calling me "AUNT" nu-uh. And they better love freaking puppets. Oh man, there probs going to have allergies like my sister does and just sneeze on the reg. It's going to be awesome.

I thought about my sister quite a bit tonight. At improv, I got to watch tonight. I kept laughing really high-pitched and I sounded just like her. When my sister laughs we end up calling her Giggles the Clown. Anyway, I'm rambling. Meow, goodnight moon, hello bed!

Sesame & Other Drugs

Today's the 41st(maybe) anniversary of Sesame Street, YO! I suggest you go watch some videos to make your life bettttter

Also, I really want to see that Love & other drugs movie. I've decided that I don't like when trailers give away too much. I like to entice me and make me only know the bare minimum. Just like I refuse to search Harry Potter trailers or anything because I want to be completely surprised.

Simple is Good

"It all ends in one of two ways: either someone gets eaten or something blows up."
— Jim Henson

I had a rough day. I had to deal with a bunch of utter nonsense.
I deal with a lot of nonsense on a regular basis. It's sort of what fuels me & kills me. I think I might have an ulcer by the end of this semester.

Meow.

Girl Meets World

The more I think it over, the more I feel that there is nothing more truly artistic than to love people.
- Vincent van Gogh

After I watched this episode, I felt the urge to watch the most emotional episode of BMW ever. You can find the climax here.

Calvin & Astrology

Love 'em.

Horoscope!
You feel indecisive, which doesn’t happen all that often for you. It may be a sign that you need to slow down or even turn around and consider a wide range of options. Things can be really different.

My love one said that I should wear something special today. Great, I'm already wearing my purple booooooooots!

"It's the good life, so why ya'll trippin'?"

I had a good day today, really good.
Nothing spectacular happened, I just felt good. Ya dig?

My art project looks BOMB! Which (in my opinion) is the first of the semester! It's gorgeous! I really didn't want to stop working on it today and didn't realized class was over until my professor said something. I'll post pictures of it when I finish it. I'm actually EXCITED to work on it over the weekend, also a first of the semester!
I heard this song-- the Kris Allen version (which I like A LOT) but I'm putting the original singers here. It came on my pandora during class. This movie is so beautiful.

I'm getting this DUMB situation with a girl I collaborated with taken care (with help from my boss) so a lot of pressure is being taken off of me. Things seem to be falllllllling into place.

Practice Gratitude <3

and then there's the CRACKFOX!

I Heart The Library

I grew up living in the library pretty much. My whole family is obsessed with reading. My mom read to us since we were in the womb. And for the past 11ish years, I am in walking distance from my local library. I've spent a good deal of summer time there. Anywho, because of my hectic schedule and severe lack of time, I haven't been in a while. I went today because I have a project that is coming up based on a modern dancer named Mary Wigman. I ended up spending a lot of time looking at the dance books and I noticed all these books about party planning from the 1950s. It was awesome because the books still had the paper check out slips from the 50s. I ended up meandering around the library trying not to look at anything too closely. I would end up carrying 14 books home to my apartment. Not a good idea when I have tons of homework already!! In honor of my finding my love again I have two special treats for you.

Jekyll & Hyde and a PSA.

Also, if you type in "I love the library" into google images, cool pictures pop up like two boys eatin' ice cream. Holla!
