I've been neglectful. Of what? Of a lot of things really. One if the top of the list is my own health, which includes my happiness level. Thus, this weekend I decided to make it a "Detox weekend" to bring me back to myself in a positive way. Thus, this morning I read the last two months worth of Jason Mraz's blog and cleaned out a lot of e-mails and other nonsense. I took some of the quotes that struck me today and a video that is similar to one from his website.
"As a songwriter, environment plays a key role in the game of making shit up."
"...reminds me that my problems are all made up anyway." (TRUTH)
"Have an amazing week creating yourself as awesome."
"Proceeds of the items go to help young women do rad shit."
"In the future, we FINALLY see Earth as a container where anything goes – a place where radical self-expression is the norm - a place where you can walk naked among thousands of people and get the cosmic joke that nobody cares. We finally stop worrying about what other people think and suddenly there is no war. Vanity is a thing of the past. Judgment doesn’t go any deeper than that of an art critic. We forget about any idea about the way things are SUPPOSED to be and remember it’s all made up anyway. Our future is unwritten and we harness that nothingness until it becomes the most beautiful and easy existence we’ve ever known. Science and Spirituality finally run hand in hand and any doubts about the power of our own minds healing the world are gone. We get it and we fucking do it – constantly."
"Clearing simply means to bring your attention back to your own awesomeness!!"
-Clearing is a process of setting your mind back on track (basically). The reason I took this quote though was because I misread it. I read "Cleaning" instead of "Clearing." But I think they are interchangeable. If you didn't know, I really like to clean and I always think cleaning is a way of finding yourself again if you start to get lost. Remembering what you wanted, needed, who you were/are. Cleaning is spiritual, just try to tell me otherwise.
